About the Special Issue
Kristianstad University hosted the first Scandinavian Applied Measurement Conference (SAMC) in June 2024. Scandinavian researchers interested in measurement interacted with an international audience that included presenters from Australia, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, the United States, Germany, Latvia, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. The conference was multidisciplinary and covered fields such as health sciences, social sciences, behavioral sciences, and education. Funding for the conference was obtained from FORTE (the Swedish Research Council for Health, Working Life and Welfare).
This special issue highlights a select number of the papers presented at SAMC 2024 dealing with development, evaluation and quality assurance using Rasch measurement theory and related approaches, with an emphasis on the role of the individual person in the measurement process and analysis, as well as in the use and interpretation of results.
